I trust the backtest more than my feelings. The feelings still show up

About
- Professional trader working an independent book. The job is to take risk that is defined in advance, in markets that can actually be exited.
- Coverage is crypto, FX majors, and equity indices. The horizon runs from the session open to a few days. If the level is not there, there is no trade.
- Each session starts with a plan: what is in play, where the idea is wrong, and how large it can be. Size follows the stop, not the other way around.
- Execution is discretionary. Levels, liquidity, and session timing matter more than a signal for its own sake.
- After the close, the trade is reviewed against the plan. The question is whether the process was followed, not whether the last result felt good.
- This page is a record of process. It is not investment advice, and it does not publish a track record.
How I trade
Desk
Current Employer- Mark the levels that matter and the sessions that can move them.
- Write the idea down before the click: what confirms it, and what kills it.
- Ignore markets that are too thin to exit.
- Levels
- Session timing
- Catalysts
- Liquidity
- The stop is chosen first. Size is what that stop allows.
- One trade does not get to decide the week.
- If the market gaps through the plan, the position is already small enough to survive it.
- Position sizing
- Invalidation
- Exposure
- Correlation
